  • Library Lion 大意--by Peggy



圖書館來了一頭獅子，大家嚇了一跳。但是牠沒有大聲吼叫，也沒有違反任何規則，所以館長讓牠留下來。幸好獅子很守規矩，而且最愛聽故事，小朋友都很喜歡他，牠還是圖書館的小幫手呢！有一天，安靜的獅子竟然不顧一切的大吼起來，原來是館長受傷了，獅子為了引起注意，而破壞了圖書館的規則，獅子知道犯錯而不再到圖書館聽故事，最後卻是由最不喜歡獅子的館員把獅子給找回來了！從此圖書館有了新規定：如果有特殊情況，可以不遵守規則，即使是圖書館也不例外。

紐約市立圖書館
紐約公共圖書館（New York Public Library,
NYPL）是美國主要圖書館系統之一，和布魯克林公共圖書館系統、皇后圖書館系統一起組成紐約市的三大公共圖書館系統。紐約公共圖書館總部的主體建築位於第五大道，由於藏有《古騰堡聖經》和牛頓的《自然哲學的數學原理》被認為是世界著名圖書館。

作者Michelle Knudsen
作者於1974年生於紐約Staten島,畢業於Cornell大學的Vermont College of Fine Arts研究所.她於圖書館工作多年,她認為圖書館是敞開大門歡迎所有人的,但是如果光臨的是隻獅子,的確令人驚訝與好奇.她寫本書時是在Cornell大學圖書館,所以本書對圖書館的觀點是以此為出發點,而非New York Public Library.這是本幽默,憨厚,輕鬆且迷人的故事.
她從有記憶以來就喜歡寫作,但從未寫過童書.直到在Random House當童書助理後,因業務需要才執筆寫童書.她的作品超過40本書,其後在Gotham Writer’s Workshop教童書寫作兼擔任獨立自由編輯.她目前住在紐約布魯克林區,她喜歡看電影,聽音樂,吃美食並與朋友唱卡拉OK,也彈樂器並演出.
